The First Families of Arizona meets on the last Tuesday of each
month from September to May, except for the month of December,
when it will meet on the third Tuesday. In-person
meetings are held at First United Methodist Church, 5510 North
Central Avenue in Phoenix. Meetings begin promptly
at 10 AM.
Be sure to check this website for information about future

Scheduled presentations for 2025-2026 are:
Tuesday, September 30, 2025--John Medley discusses the
rise of Arizona's citrus industry and displays some antique
fruit box labels.
Tuesday, October 28, 2025--Laura Tohe, Ph. D. and Navajo
Nation poet laureate, will present a program entitled "Talking
Code with a Secret Weapon". It describes the mission of
the Navajo Code Talkers during World War II.
Tuesday, November 18, 2025--Kelly Cordes recounts the
founding of Cordes, Arizona, in 1883.
Tuesday, December 16, 2025--Special holiday program with
entertainment (to be announced later).
Tuesday, January 27, 2026--Karen Krause recalls the
(almost) vanished community of Waddell, Arizona.
Tuesday, February 24, 2026--Janice O'Rourke will share
family stories from her book, A Tennessee Girl Goes to
Arizona.
Tuesday, March 31 2026--Mary Dickson will speak on
Litchfield Park and the "New Town" movement. Elections for
officers to be held.
Tuesday, April 28, 2026--Linda Griffin Brost describes
the lives of her pioneer Griffin ancestors in Gila County.
Tuesday, May 28, 2025--Annual memorial program during
which members present historic/interesting Arizona artifacts.
